Two Amels finalists in BOAT Design Innovation Awards

Congratulations to 74-metre Amels 242 SYNTHESIS and Amels 60-metre 200 MOONSTONE, announced as finalists in the 2022 BOAT Design Innovation Awards. Our Dutch superyacht production team delivered both yachts in 2021. The yachts stood out in the category Best Motor Yacht Interior Design 500 GT and above. Whilst both Limited Editions bear the unmistakable exterior design signature of Tim Heywood, their interiors are the custom works of two different interior design studios.

Interiors of SYNTHESIS break away from convention

SYNTHESIS, fifth of our successful Amels 242 Limited Editions design, was delivered in January 2021 and features bespoke interiors by Winch Design. The custom interiors take the refinement of this Limited Editions to the next level with a unique inspiration and approach to layouts that break away from convention and focus on entertainment and flowing spaces, whilst still ensuring complete Owner privacy when needed.

We are thrilled that Synthesis has been nominated in the 2022 BOAT D&I Awards, continuing the success of this tried and tested Amels 242 Limited Editions Range that we have had the pleasure of designing the interiors for. Receiving this recognition for SYNTHESIS’s interior design excellence is testament to the exceptional creativity, innovation and design quality from the Winch Design team and we very much look forward to the Awards.’ Jim Dixon, Director of Yacht & Aviation at Winch Design.

Elegant MOONSTONE interiors exactly as dreamed

MOONSTONE, the second yacht from the Amels 200 Limited Editions design and delivered in July 2021, features custom interiors by Luxury Projects. The brief was a top luxury interior, appealing to a large clientele, given that the custom design began as a speculative build for the yard. Laura Pomponi, CEO and founder of the Ancona-based design studio in Italy, comments.

‘For the design approach, simplicity in architectural lines combined with contrasting materials and the proper use of light were brought together to create a timeless style with an elegant, homely feeling. We are very proud of the end result. The beautiful interior is exactly what we dreamed of thanks to the team effort of our dedicated Italian suppliers, Artisan Workshops, the Owner’s team, the Shipyard and the Interiors Contractor.’
